The Celebration Method is an exploratory, play-based approach for growth-minded humans to creatively express what they’re carrying and feeling. This world exists as an outlet for release while reconnecting to the joy of being human and alive. Based on six years of experiential observation from confetti portraiture and pioneering play research, this framework is an unconventional, experimental guide that invites you to expand your outlook on what celebration really means and what role it can play in your day-to-day life.

the hypothesis

In adulthood, it is normalized to be play-deprived but integrating a play practice is vital for coping with the inevitable unpredictability and adversity of life. With confetti as a vehicle for play, we can increase our general well-being and quality of life by nourishing our inner world’s through self-expression, self-reflection, and self-celebration.

the hypothesis

Play is a catalyst for adaptability, survival, and alleviating the mental health crisis. Adults need and want to re-discover play. When play is normalized and practiced in adulthood, general well-being increases and quality of life improves.

Confetti

The main portal we measure play drive in adults

embracing the mess

a way to express yourself

a multi-dimensional play practice

surprisingly cathartic + awe-inspiring

colorful pieces of paper floating in air

falling apart + coming back together

a way to activate your senses

a tool to drop into the present

somatic, tactile, interactive

a beautiful mess

the method

An enriching, immersive experience is created when integrating two play activities for a space of self-celebration. Here, confetti and storytelling serve as complimentary play portals that shift between self-expression and self-reflection as we activate our senses. While TCP experiments with confetti as our main play tool, you do not have to use confetti. It’s interchangeable with anything that elicits play. This is a world where you get to experience an extended joy state and alchemize it with your mood as you honor yourself wherever you are. It’s an escape that explores: what makes you feel alive?
